Kids & Teens
Virtual Therapy Designed With Kids in Mind
Kids don't always communicate best by sitting across from an adult and answering questions—and moving therapy online doesn't change that.
I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents and use a creative, developmentally appropriate approach to telehealth.
Depending on your child’s needs and interests, sessions may include:
An interactive, kid-friendly telehealth platform
Games and play-based activities
Drawing and creative projects
Art-based therapeutic interventions using supplies available at home
Emotional regulation activities
Conversation and problem-solving
Parent collaboration and support
A child doesn't have to be great at sitting still or talking for 50 minutes to benefit from therapy.
Art & Creativity Through Telehealth
Art-based work doesn't have to end because therapy is virtual.
If your child has basic art supplies at home—paper, markers, colored pencils, paint, clay, or whatever they enjoy—we can incorporate creative activities into sessions.
The goal isn't to create perfect artwork. Art can provide another way for children to communicate, regulate, process experiences, and stay engaged when talking alone isn't enough.
School Support
Before working in private practice, I worked as a school counselor and have experience with 504 Plans, IEPs, school accommodations, behavioral supports, and collaboration between families and schools.
For children struggling academically, behaviorally, socially, or emotionally at school, I can help parents better understand their child's needs and consider what supports may be appropriate.
When clinically appropriate and with proper authorization, therapy can also involve collaboration with other professionals involved in your child's care.
Parent Involvement
Working with a child often means working with the adults supporting them, too.
Depending on your child's needs, treatment may include parent check-ins, consultation, psychoeducation, problem-solving, and strategies that can be used between sessions.
